Hi Booth -

Can "RUNQRY *N SomeLF" be displayed in key sequence?

Is it somehow possible to use the runqry command against a logical file
and have the records displayed in key sequence?

You can't force it. You can encourage it by doing a record selection based on the first key field of the logical you want to be used, and hope that the optimizer will use that logical. (The record selection doesn't need to actually exclude any records.)

Specifying the logical that you want to be used as the RUNQRY file is irrelevant AFAICS; the optimizer does what it does based on the selection and ordering criteria. Since you can't specify any ordering criteria, you're limited to selection criteria to try to give the optimizer a nudge in the direction that you want it to go. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
