But FILEB does not contain a CCC record. The join file is join by KEY1. Because CCC is not in FILEB, record CCC, 1234567890 in FILEA will not be part of the join file. If the record is not part of the join file, why does it consider as duplicate? -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces+lim.hock-chai=usamobility.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces+lim.hock-chai=usamobility.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Simon Coulter Sent: Monday, February 13, 2006 3:52 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: Strange join logical duplicate key error. Because FILEAJ0 is keyed UNIQUE on FAKEY2. When you add a record to a PF all access paths, including LF, are checked for uniqueness. The record you are adding is unique to FILEA but a duplicate in FILEAJ0.
