I'm trying to forget twinax myself.  So far I've done a pretty good job.
It may require some physical tracking of how they are hooked up.  The only
other thought that comes to mind in addition to what you've already
mentioned is to check to see if they are plugged into a hub that might have
been affected by your "power blip".
