The only partitioning we've done on a 270 was to add a Linux partition. If 
you've got the change laying around it might behoove you to contract this 
out for a "one shot" deal.  The old adage about why get educated about 
something you'll never use again?

Lpar is supported on "some 270s".

But, if you're up for the challenge, you might want to start at

Since it's a 270, skip the i5 section and concentrate on the first and 
last.
