I can plug and unplug to my heart's content and the system doesn't know. I did it again this morning just to prove it to myself. (emphasis mine) If I read that correctly, it is "working as designed". That is, the system not recognizing the UPS is attached/not is the expected behavior. So 2 months from now, how do I know the system thinks it's attached? I could set up a data area or anything I wanted to 'record' that it was attached at some point in time, but that really means nothing. It needs to be realtime.
