Re: utility programs?

A utility program I'd like to see done right (and not messy like I do 
it) is a process to save/return constants by application department, or 
user for screen fields.  Sort of a defaults file for screen programs.  A 
way to get the last filter settings used by the user, or by department, 
or by application for instance? Part of the issue is that we need 
character fields, date fields, and numeric fields.
