These solutions require a PC/windows front-end. Using the OS/400 APIs and some RPG code doesn't. -- Doug Hart -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Nick Blattner Sent: Thursday, March 02, 2006 7:08 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: password synch Hello David I think you will find that SSO/EIM is the best solution for 5250 and Netserver signon. The problems you are facing are common in shops that have more than one iSeries. Here are some links that will help: http://tinyurl.com/n7w6c (Redbook on SSO/EIM - excellent overview and theory) Pat Botz book: Experts' Guide to OS/400 & i5/OS Security (Chapter 12 tells you how to configure it) /* Vendor marketing */ http://www.powertechgroup.com/p_solutions_sso.html /* End marketing */ Configuration is not trivial but once done it is a stable and robust environment.
