The last CUM and a slew of Groups never arrived after putting the order in via Fix Central. Eventually (can't remember how long I waited 2-4 weeks, I think), I called the 800#, talked to software support, and a sweet sounding young thing took the particulars, and placed the order for me. They started arriving about a week later (multiple packages) with USPS markings.

Anyway, finally got all of them, I thought, so printed the special instruction cover letters (I'm such a paranoid). While I'm wading through those, more packages start coming. I *think* what happened was that one of those shipments (not sure which one) was my original order; the other one was the re-order. Both were USPS. No tracking number on the confirmation email.

Everything had always come via AirBorne before. I usually try to download things from the ftp server, except CUMS and, as in this case, a large number of Groups.

As an aside, we have two 520's. I always install PTF's to the backup system first. Wait a week or so and then apply them to production. Both boxes should, theoretically, be mirror images at that point. When I applied to production, though, I got a halt saying that a coreq PTF was missing. Rochester was able to get me through that, but what really frosted my clock was that these were for a fix to a subfile keyword (ERRSFL, I think) that I don't even use. I may just wind up doing a SAVSTG from production to backup one of these days to make sure they're in synch - again.

Ours usually come via DHL and are quick. Last time I noticed when ordering
a group online was that there was a field to specify the carrier... i've
never used it though.

Wow. Ordered the PTF media for HMC 5.2 - did this on Feb 28th.

The front of the package says "Ship date 2/28/2006" and here it is the
16th of March and it showed up today. This took so long I reordered the
package 2 days ago. Good thing I didn't need the fix packs for my HMC
or anything. Sheesh.

Anyone else having 2.5-week turnaround times on their PTFs? Is this
IBM's way to ensure everyone does electronic delivery?
