Dave, QSYS/QAUDJRN is a special purpose system object that, when it exists, acts as the OS Security Auditing Journal. Many OS Security related events are only written to QAUDJRN. I suspect you can create a Journal called QAUDJRN in your own library, however, the operating system will not recognize it as the system security audit journal and will not write OS security entries to it. Another possible route is to see if your messaging product can be taught to write its journal entries to another journal name (we do this all the time in our NetworkSecurity product), so that it does not clutter up the QSYS/QAUDJRN. The product may have the ability to write to a named journal already, or it may be a trivial change for the vendor to enable this. Your best bet might be to talk to the makers of your messaging software and see if they can help you out. jte -- John Earl | Chief Technology Officer The PowerTech Group 19426 68th Ave. S Seattle, WA 98032 (253) 872-7788 ext. 302 john.earl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx www.powertech.com Celebrating our 10th Anniversary Year!
