I just used my first Operations Console cable. When configuring on the PC, make sure to add the modem. It shows up as an "AS400 Operations Console Connection". I blew past this step and had to have someone hold my hand while I added the modem, from disk, C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\Aoc\Inf\cwbopaoc.inf Then I had to re-boot the AS400 since it came up fully without a console.
