The setup on the 3489 "should" be something along the lines of 3812-SCS as the printer emulation. You should be selecting HP LaserJet III as the model. The rest of the setting should be factory default in most cases. People tend to "play" with those setting and then wonder why they are getting strange results. If you are NOT familar with HPT, then you are not using it I suspect. You tend to get different results with HPT and certain functions are available using HPT that are not using 3489 emulation. In 99% of the time, 3489 emulation works just fine and does ALL the stuff you need or want. What does the 3489 printer DEVD appear to be as far as printer type ??? Look in the DEVD at the parm HOST PRINT TRANSFORM to determine if you are using HPT. Has this printer ever been 100% in it's current setting ???? James H H Lampert wrote:
Are you using "local emulation" or HPT ???
And Pat, I *think* it's "local emulation," since I have only a vague notion what HPT is. The last time I wrestled with settings and definitions, I was barely able to get it to rotate and reduce 132-column reports to fit on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.
