While it didn't fix my problem, I have been reading the forums for hours looking for a solution and there are a number of other people that have been looking for a way to prevent the iSeries Access Emulator from disconnecting when used remotely. Most people resort to Mochasoft because they have a KeepAlive option that's easy to select. I haven't seen anyone else that has found the KeepAlive option in Client Access or iSeries Access. See the above link for the complete article. To sum it up: In the .WS file that is usually in C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\Emulator\Private There should be a section called: [Telnet5250] Just add the line KeepAlive=Y and you'll be good to go. [Profile] ID=WS Version=5 [Telnet5250] KeepAlive=Y HostName=192.168.100.55 Security=Y [Communication] Link=telnet5250 . . . . (etc.) Tech tip courtesy of Barsa Consulting, LLC and Dave Schnee While I don't usually have a disconnect problem I did see a lot of people looking for a solution. Since even after I added the KeepAlive=Y and I am still disconnecting every 10 min. I am thinking the v5r1 Client Access is corrupted and I'll uninstall it. I am going to try iSeries Access v5r3 and see if it will work with OS/400 v4r4. I haven't seen anyone else report that it will or won't work.
