I need to verify the RAID enablement card is installed in the 520 system unit and are attached correctly. 4 drive in ASP at 14% used. This system only has the OS loaded and all the CD's for the latest CUME and Service Packs loaded, 21 in all. I can write the drives, since they are the only drives in the system and they have no H in the names, DD001 - DD004. One is the load source. The storage controller is a 507B with 4 x 4326-050 drives attached, 1 x 6337-002 DVD, and a 28D2-001 Disk Services? Is the 28D2 the RAID enabler? You should be able to start RAID whether the drives are configured or not. There are only a few things that stop you from starting RAID: 1) No RAID card (DUH!) 2) Not enough drives that are not RADIed already or MIRROREd of the same size on the RAID card, 3) Not enough free space on the drives. If you have 4 drives and they are all part of the ASP then they need to be at aximum 75% full to allow for the space lost to RAID striping. 4) the drives are write protected (They have a letter 'H' in their name) In this case they need to be formatted first through the problem recovery menu.
