Multi formats in a single file were never a good idea. It's
time to look at a different way to handle that.

IBM offered a way to handle that with a logical over more
than one physical. While not pretty, it's pretty simple
and requires "minor" changes on your part.

You need to recall that multi-format files are a left
over from punched cards, which I watched disappear about
30 years ago.
