Mike,
MPG has the tools to dig into the system and find out what the issue is.
I have seen it work in customer sights and save them lots of time. One
customer was ready to spend a great deal of money for a system upgrade
and by using MPG's Performance Navigator they pinpointed the user and
job that was causing problems. Turns out there was a bug in an
application which when fixed allowed them to wait another 6 months to
upgrade. It is worth a look. I do not sell the product. I will either
get you in touch with them or a partner in your area. Please feel free
to e-mail me or call me.

The cache battery is fine - I have a job that monitors for CPP messages.
It runs out the problem is "application related" - ODBC jobs hammering
on the machine.
