I received the following perturbing email from an IBM tech: The loop back users is for local jobs that are accessing your java toolbox. They still need a socket connection to do that and that is the reason that the local loopback is used. This is still a QZDASOINIT job that will end up running and if you look at the joblog for that, it will show you what local user attached to that QZDASOINIT job. This was in response to my query: I have noticed on both of our AS400's that some QZDASOINIT jobs refer to the internal loopback address 127.0.0.1 and others refer to the IP address of the external requester. Now the real confusing thing is that these QZDASOINIT jobs show up with a loopback address and are associated with MY userid, although I NEVER/RARELY log into this AS400. Where are these animals coming from?
