Client PCs running VB client application code don't use server CPW. Even so, if it runs like a dog, why would you bother?
Have you heard of the cliche "right tool for the right job"?

I can make a case that client PCs need as much CPU as they can get for
flicker free drawing of controls on forms, running modern framework code
that is just in time compiled as it is run, loading more layers to the
system software to meet security requirements, running Java code written
with a 3Ghz PC in mind ( think WDSc ).
But the i5 is a server. VB client application code that runs great with a
modern PC server will be a dog when served by a geared down i5.
