2. 09 May 2006 If you are installing or upgrading to V5R4M0 and

using the iBase CD with label RSA, users may not

be able to get the Operations Console directly

connected. SRC A600 5008 may be issued, requiring

users to get the iBase CD, RSB or later.

I don't have a V5R4 CD available, but on the V5R3 CD's the code level is
printed on the I_BASE_01 CD right underneath the R03M00. It should say:
LICENSED MACHINE CODE RSx, where x is the LIC respin level.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that the person you talked
to at SL was incorrect on this one. When we upgraded to our 810 we had
to slip the LIC because the 810 hardware was not supported by the
version of LIC that we were on. The respin is not the same as version A
with LIC PTF's applied.

Never mind on slipping the LIC.

Got the new set of CDs today. Same as the first set (version A).
Called to vent. Now Supportline tells me that using version B CDs is no

different than using version A and applying the appropriate LIC PTFs
which I have done. So I have nothing to gain.

Since it works on my desktop PC with a serial port, but not on the
laptop via a USB-to-PDA serial adaptor, Supportline now believes it's
that adaptor cable. Advised me to get a 'true' USB-to-serial adaptor,
which I'm doing.
