A previous UPS had a 3 year guarantee on the huge rack of batteries. The
problem being to get one replaced under the guarantee you'd wait for one
to fail and have them replace it. We didn't want the downtime. So when
one or more started getting weak we'd replace all the batteries and write
the check instead of being penny wise - pound foolish. Side benefit is
that I got a slew of batteries to run my trolling motors on my fleet. Some
are still useful for that purpose and it's been over 10 years.
