It could be, but there's a lot of switches to go thru between those 
places, and I'll bet a piece of equipment along the line can't go that 
fast. I remember stuff like that in the old telecom communications days. I 
had a link set up between San Francisco and London. The fastest I could 
ever get it to go was 4800 BPS. The old equipment in the British telephone 
system was the culprit.
