WRKSYSVAL F4 & *PRINT the sucker ... it marks all the stuff that no longer agree with how it came out of 400 box, then you can go view those on-line to see what the heck they do for you.

When you do an IPL, the QSYSOPR jobq gets cleared, along with some other ones specified by WRKSYSVAL for where various kinds of stuff to go. Or perhaps you have GO POWER do the IPLs for you, on some schedule.

Check GO CLEANUP to see how long the logs get kept before getting wiped.

DSPLOG F4 will let you see data that is inside that window. Cursor on line then F1 to find interesting details ... identify the message #s, then DSPLOG F4 F10 scroll to see where to key in the message #s, so as to see ONLT the stuff with those message #s.

If you view the DSPLOG associated with time of IPL, you can see all kinds of stuff trying to start, failing to start. WRKSYSVAL has a setting where you might be using some start up other than what came out of IBM box.

WRKOUTQ & enter to see all the OUTQ ... there should be some for JOBLOGS DUMP files and other geeky stuff, depending on how often you clean that stuff out.

WRKPRB is sometimes informative.
