also possible to convert an existing Query/400 into a QM, though it's been a long time

see...
RTVQMQRY with ALWQRYDFN(*YES)
RTVQMFORM

and then...
CRTQMQRY
CRTQMFORM

once had a command and cpp to handle the whole process, left it behind at a client

Not sure I understand the question.

What the "main query page" vs. "actual report page"

My QM queries often use report headers like:
    Inventory History
      for period
 2006-07-01 to 2006-07-31

In QM, it's easy. You just use &columnNumber to put a column from the
result set onto the report page header. Then you leave the column off
the detail line.

I don't know if Query/400 offers a similar capability. Or QM would
handle a &columnNumber in the header of a Query/400 query.

not the main query page, but the actual report page
header?
thanks,
mike
