Sorry, forgot to mention that it's V5R3.  Yeah,  I know on z/OS we 
have the commands that are in V5R4 (usually don't see the mainframe 
first on things like this).  I did see that V5R4 seems to really bring 
COBOL up to snuff on XML.

I was just wondering if there were any cool tools that I hadn't seen 
yet rather than trudging along this path.

I might just tell her to hold off because I was planning V5R4 sometime 
this fall anyway.

I know you said COBOL, but V5R4 added some nice stuff to RPGLE to 
write 
XML directly.  Don't know if they did anything with COBOL in V5R4.

Have a gent here who has used the XML tools early on.  Soon as we 
put V5R4 
on our development box and he saw what they did with RPG he was 
chomping 
at the bit to get V5R4 on our production box.  Now that we do, 
he's quite 
happy.
