During a recent disaster recovery test at an outside facility, the instructions we were given for our restore were, to say the least, wrong. I've not run into this particular problem before, but it's a "gottcha". Library QSYS2 is now part of the *ALLUSR libraries, starting in V5R2. My company was at V5R3 in 2005's test, but had different instructions for the previous restore. After LIC and the O.S., 2005's procedure was as follows.... 1) RSTCFG 2) RSTUSRPRF 3) RSTAUT 4) Continue with Restores This years, by contrast.... After LIC and O.S. for 2006 1) RSTCFG 2) RSTUSRPRF 3) Restore Libraries 4) ETC + RSTAUT When QSYS2 hit the system, it crashed. I've heard of two ways to deal with this... 1) Don't back it up & don't restore it or *Omit this library when running *ALLUSR portion of restore. 2) Before restoring *ALLUSR - Immediately after RTVUSRPRF, run RSTAUT and this will take care of it. Do we need this library restored in the event of a disaster? Any suggestions much appreciated. Matt
