Use the command CHKOBJ:

CHKOBJ OBJ(LIBRNAM) OBJTYPE(*LIB)

This will return a CPF9801 if the library is not found, then you process
your error routine.

Subject
Checking for Library Existance in a CL Program

All:

I need to validate a Library Name parameter in a custom command. Does
anyone have any suggestions for accomplishing this via the Validity
Checking program written in CL?

Thanks
