Another alternative would be the use of the STRPCO/STRPCCMD combination
of commands. Yes, although I'd be worried about the delay in time. Not that it's long, but it's longer than something running, and this should have quick response time. FWIW, I think you could send simply the path and name of the sound file, windows should figure out the player from the file association. HOWEVER, that approach would also interrupt anything playing in the current media player playlist, like it just did for me (off to restart Roger Waters...) -Walden
