I did see these, they sound very appealing (nothing to install or maintain) except for not knowing if the fax was actually sent. Most of the native software solutions had a way to see if the fax was actually received by the receiving machine.

Mike- Some of the third-party options are Internet-based. For example you send out the document as an email attatchment to "312111111@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" The only thing that varies with each service provider is the domain and how they want you to format the number part of the email address. That's something that is not very obvious on the IBM site! I am

on V5R3 so I guess this option is out. Looks like if I want an IBM solution I have to license domino and then add on Domino fax. Time to

look at a third party I guess since I don't think I want to run
Domino
just so I can fax a few documents.plevy@xxxxxxxxxxxx 9/5/2006 7:16 PM >>>Be warned that 5798FAX isn't supported beyond V5R2. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Cunningham To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Sent: Tuesday, September 05, 2006 4:38 PM Subject: IBM Fax support for iSeries I am thinking about ordering IBM Fax Support for iSeries http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/fax400/ for doing 50-100 outgoing faxes a day. The documentation says it will work with the standard on-board modem on a model 520 but I wanted to check for sure before ordering. Is anyone using this product with a model 520 standard modem?
