How about creating a library 'on the fly' with the User's UserID as the
name? Change your Current Library to that library, and when the job is
complete, change your Current library back to *CRTDFT and delete the
library.

RE: Verifying Existence of a File on a Server

According to what I can figure out, there's no way to specify where the
file should go except to change the current library. Unfortunately, the
current library cannot be QTEMP. That means trouble if I have more than
one user performing maintenance.

Thanks anyway.

Use the "ls (disk" FTP command and it will return a directory listing
of all the files in your specified directory to a file called LSOUTPUT on

your AS/400. Just read LSOUTPUT to see if the file you are looking for
exists.
