Steve, Think of the oil crisis we find ourselves in today. Why do we accept $3 and $4 gas ? We're accepting because there's not much we can do to change the tide unless we don't want to drive cars. I personally don't want to walk to work and certainly don't want to ride my bike 22 miles along the freeway :-) In the case of the iSeries, I don't agree with the higher cost of the iSeries in principal either. But am I going to stop using the iSeries because of the costs ? No, because it brings value to my business and other businesses as well. The p5 also has it's place as well as Wintel or Apple boxes. In fact we have several customers who have shops with i5, p5 and Wintel boxes all for different point applications. Regards, Richard Schoen RJS Software Systems Inc. Timothy Prickett Morgan at ITJungle writes that IBM management has a quarter by quarter outlook on things. I dont understand why the people on this list are so accepting of the premium pricing of the system. But whatever. I am mostly curious to know how AIX and i5/OS compare against each other. -Steve
