I have noticed where the number of files bundled up by the failing save to DVD has increased since I did the fixes. Thanks for the info! This save is everything since the last rebuild of the HMCs. Often over a GB if the things been upgraded a time or two. - Larry ChadB@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:

working on the brand new HMC, though)... how sizable are these particular backups usually?

I have had issues but it has been a *LONG time, like early in the V4 code stream of HMC. Of course I don't back up to DVD very often any longer I use the 'back up to remote server' option and push it to a i5/OS partition and/or to my laptop. If it gets to i5/OS then it gets backed up to tape later. - Larry ChadB@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:Alright... fixes are done without too much trouble (the Infocenterupdateswere LONG downloads), but my 'Save Critical Console Data' operation
still
goes to the DVD and runs for hours with the light flashing. I've got aPMRopen on it and will hopefully go further with IBM on the issue today. Anyone ever run into problems with this HMC save?
