Um, the DSPFD will do the dupe if you didn't already. What did you think they did, CREATE TABLE or CRTPF from DDS instead? Before I figured this out, I would do a DSPFD of one file only. Let the out file get created. Clear the member and then do the CHGPF to *NOMAX. Then do the whole DSPFD. Doing the manual CRTDUP makes more sense, (providing you can figure out the name of the template file).
Sorry, I thought you were suggesting duping the outfile object, changing it, and then doing the DSPFD to the outfile. Right now we're just letting the DSPFD command create the outfile for us. The problem is, we are expecting the file that is created to be the same as the template file in QSYS (QAFDMBR). It's not. david
