While you have to have journalling running on any library being
MIMIXed to the backup system, the receivers don't have to be kept
around forever. Mimix administers the receivers, and once the data
has been transmitted to the backup system, Mimix will clean up any
receivers it doesn't need. There are settings to determine how long
Mimix will keep them around.

Sorry for jumping in late in this thread - my opinion on DASD in
HA-saloution is:

Source system - you will have to add some dasd as mentioned above
taking into account that you sometimes will take the target system down
for maintenance and during that time frame you will keep the
receivers on the source system.

Target system - you absolutely need more DASD as when you do a
roleswap to the target system and as long as you are running on the target
system you will accumulate the receivers on the target system. Don't know
your needs but many almost24*7 shops only afford to do planned roleswaps
on weekends so you maybe have to calculate with a week
running on the target system.

If you drop journalling while on target system your only way back
is a complete restore.
