I went to the fall conference in Miami Beach as a first time attendee. It was great. Stayed in a five star oceanfront hotel on the beach for $159 a night. Flight from Chicago was just over $200. I think COMMON should stop changing the locations and have at least one conference in the same place every year. Changing it all the time gives management the impression that it's a travel and leisure type of thing. There would be less of that if every September the conference was held in Miami or Phoenix or Rochester, etc. I would think COMMON could negotiate even better rates if they could promise to come back to, lets say the Loewe's, every September. I believe it would be easier on the speakers to go back to the same place every year too. How many of you folks would find it desirable/practical to attend a System i conference in this fair town? Room rates aren't bad. And the place is nowhere near as tacky as I had expected. Just wondering if I should be checking it out for future events. Jon Paris Partner400 www.Partner400.com
