Yep, had a PMR open with IBM MANY years ago on this problem. Same resolution - have to wait until the connection is established before typing away. Many of the TN5250 programs will screw up the whole screen painting if you tap enter during the connection process. I can get Mochasoft to this everytime if I wanted. Click connect, then tap enter a few times before the signon screen comes up. Art Tostaine
