Where does one run x-Windows? On some PC in the network? If not, how do I configure this on to my Linux lpar?
OPENSSH ( secure shell ) is one route. to get an idea what you are dealing with I asked a similar question in an AIX newsgroup: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.unix.aix/browse_frm/thread/8874b4d261a8efee/6ab8d0248613dde1?lnk=gst&q=stephenrichter&rnum=1&hl=en#6ab8d0248613dde1
Giggles: Why do they prefer Linux? Because they can run it on older hardware instead of newer stuff geared down for Windows?
good luck to them. I purchased an rs6000 170 44P via ebay a few months back. Running the latest AIX 5.3, it takes 5 minutes to boot and is beyond slow when running the KDE desktop that comes with AIX. -Steve
