It has a slightly different focus than 
opensource4iseries.com/opensource4systemi.com, the web site I put 
together to catalog and list specific open source applications that run 
on the System i, but yeah, System i is about as open, and open source 
ready a machine that is out there.

I might be able to help out as time allows.  I am running PHP on V5R3M0 
(model 270) so I'd have an interest there.
