Hi Bob

The QSPROUTQ api will give you information on an output queue, though
I'm not sure how easy it would be to use in CL. If you put it in an
RPGLE wrapper it should be straightforward. There is an example of
using it in the LoadOutQ subroutine in

You could also use the QUSLSPL[1] api to get the entries for a
specific *outq, and if no entries are returned clear your file, but
that would take a while if the *outq isn't empty.
