(gotta give you a least a light slap) :-)
Curious, if your PC's were all running DOS 3.0 and your customers wanted
to exchange the latest format of Word documents would he outsource that
also? Or, would he upgrade the PC's to something that could run the
latest Word?

Hey, I've gotta give Inovis some respect in only supporting at least V5R1.
I'd probably raise the bar to V5R2 - at least something that IBM
currently supports. Lakeview requires at least V5R2.

Why would it cost you Mapics money? Are you running on hardware so old
that it no longer runs on anything newer than V4R5? Does Mapics charge by
tier, or by model? Often the newer models can run at a much lower tier.
For example, what used to be big time priced on a B70 can probably run in
a P10 tier now.

Thanks to your, and Carl's, answers I've at least got this outsourcing
figured out. Sounds like your inhouse costs would be there, plus
additional, even if you didn't outsource. After all, they're based on the
effort to feed it into the backend.
