The problem is we cannot restore the tape because we do not have a tape
drive that will handle his specific tape.

Sorry for the confusion, I sent the email out in a hurry....he saved these
libraries a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago and those drives have long since
been replaced.

I do this regularly for project libraries once the project gets pushed.
You just need to save them (once restored) into a save file, then, as
Don said, FTP them to a PC. You can then zip them and then burn them to
a CD.

And, yes, the restore process is just the opposite and works fine.

well, why not restore and then do a ftp?

I have an associate of mine that has some of his libraries saved on an
Magnus 2.0 tape (4 ¼ I believe) that he would like to get off loaded onto
either a CD or other media such as 8mm, etc.

If anyone can assist with this I would appreciate it you would drop me a
note off list.

Thanks,

Douglas
