Back in 2004, I accidentally deleted all our OS/400 license keys while trying
to delete some old MAPICS license keys. A nice lady from IBM, Suzanne

as I had no on-hand record of our keys. Now I make sure I do a DSPLICKEY
OUTPUT(*PRINT) every so often and file it somewhere...

Note that DSPLICKEY OUTPUT(*LICKEYFILE) is another possibility.

This file can be saved, restored, downloaded, uploaded, sent to a secondary system, even loaded into a secondary system's license repository (though it won't do anything except hold the license keys).

It can be worthwhile to run this command once in a while just to have the file available. Also note that ADDLICKEY LICKEYINP(*LICKEYFILE) expects a file in this format for input.

I can tell you what THEY will say:
"We cannot give you keys over the phone. We cannot fax you keys. We cannot
email you keys. You must go through your IBM Busines partner. We cannot
fix your key problem." That's the line and they toe it well.
