iSociety members and activities.

iSociety Fireside chat
On February 1st, 2007 at 12:30 noon US Central Time My iSociety 
(http://isociety.common.org) hosted a fireside chat featuring the IBM System i 
General Manager, Mark Shearer. 

The chat started with this question and answer:

Question from Susan: What do you think is the best thing about System i? What 
do you think is the worst thing about System i? 
MShearer says: The best thing about System i...... 
MShearer says: no question is the passionate group of users, application 
providers and partners 
MShearer says: It's a fantastic community! 
MShearer says: The worst thing? 
MShearer says: I'd say is the fact that in many places..... System i is still 
the best kept secret in the IT industry.

The next Fireside chat will be held March 1st, 2007 and will feature the System

+--- a star is born - at iSociety!
**********************************************************************
iSociety is looking for the next star in the world of viral videos! Starting 
February 1st, 2007 and ending April 13th, 2007 a panel of iSociety judges will 
be looking for great videos on the System i for everyone web site 
(http://www.i4everyone.com). 

Five categories mean five ways for your creativity to shine in the System i 
community:
  1. Judges Favorite 
  2. Members Favorite 
  3. Best Use Of System i Values And Technology 
  4. Most Creative 
  5. Silliest/Funniest

All the category winners will receive a star is born award. Category winners 
can have their picture posted at iSociety. Winners will be announced at the 
Spring 2007 COMMON Annual Conference in Anaheim which runs from April 29th to 
May 3rd, 2007 (http://www.common.org). (You do not need to be present to win.) 

The Judges Favorite Category winner will also be awarded a Nintendo Wii!

           
Come and join the fun. Create your video, upload it using the instructions at 
http://www.i4everyone.com/upload. This may be your moment to shine for System 
i, a moment to say - a star is born!
