List,

I need some feedback from those of you that use the 6384 1/4" internal tape
drive. I am seeing a high number of temporary read and write errors on both
of my 9405/520's. Our 2nd system is a v5r4 system that we've only had for
about 4 weeks and it is behaving the same way as the older v5r3 system. The
output from PRTERRLOG below is from the v5r4 system. (this is after several
good cleanings)

I placed a service call with IBM. A technician came and did not find any
(what he termed as) "serious" errors. He said he would be willing to replace
the drive but did not believe that anything would change if he did.

For those of you that are using a 6384 internal drive, do you consider this
"normal"? What does PRTERRLOG for your drive show? Thanks for your comments.
