I'm having an issue writing to an IFS file, which converts EBCDIC to ASCII along the way (code page 819, US machine). The same problem also exists using the iConv function for converting data. The Carrot ^ character gets translated to garbage. Every other character I've tested seems to work fine. I've looked in a few EBCDIC tables and don't even find this character anywhere. Any of you gurus out there know what's going on? Is this just a "no-no" character for EBCDIC machines? Thanks!
