Brad - the paragraph below is a cut/paste of the documentation from one of 
my programs. In the program, before I send it to my ascii system I do a 
translate via QDCXLATE to change it from ebcdic to ascii.

"You may need to remap your keyboard to enable the '¬' character. This 
character is necessary to ensure 
that the '¬' character, when read by an ascii system is properly 
translated to the '^' character when the ascii system expects the caret 
character ('^'). Should you need to remap your keyboard you should proably 
use shft-6 since on most pc keyboards it appears as the caret ('^') 
character (which is what it needs to translate to in ascii)."
