Thanks but I had hoped to find someway to do without user intervention.

'Something' is happening to some users in the middle of the night. The
users do not have access (and some of them possibly the smarts (but I didn't
say that)) to a command line to do the DSPJOBLOG.

I don't want to change the menu to signoff(*list) because that will save
everyone's joblog. I had wanted to change certain users to a jobd with the
different logging levels and capture a job log when the signed off. A batch
job submitted with that jobd saves the job log. Why not an interactive job?

Gord,
If the job is already running, you can do this:
In WRKACTJOB, put a 5 next to the job and on the command line do a
OPTION(*JOBLOG) OUTPUT(*PRINT).

Subject: Saving Joblog In An Interactive Job

I'm probably forgetting something really basic here but I can't seem to get
a joblog to be saved for interactive jobs.

I am setting the logging level to (4 00 *seclvl) but after signing off there
is no joblog. No subsequent chgjob has been done. A dspjob show the 4 00
*seclvl .

Submitting a job to batch with(4 00 *seclvl) does save the log.

What am I missing?

I know I can do a signoff(*list) but the users signoff as a menu option and
I want to selectively save a joblog by dither changing their jobd or by
changing the interactive job.

Thanks,

Gord
