Hi Group, I don't speak for anybody but myself. Small shop. All homegrown mostly mine. I started working with Java a few years ago and have written several fairly complex applications with it and have come to appreciate it very much. I will never forsake rpg entirely - it certainly has its uses - but I am very sold on Java for gui (swing) interfaces to iSeries data. It has been extremely bullet-proof, much much better than other (Microsoft) languages we have used. I also like the (wdsci) environment for developing and debugging. The importing and exporting capabilities of the environment are a treasure. I may be missing something in my relative inexperience with Java, but so far I'm really enjoying it. (said the guy falling from the empire state building ;)) ( and the users love it) Would I like a native rpg graphical interface? Sure if it were affordable and had a great ide enough like wdsci to make it easy to learn. We'll see. Just my 1.37 cents worth...
