Accessing the IXS remotely .. It's running Windows or Linux; I assume
Windows for this discussion so you'd use Remote Desktop/Terminal
Services.  Locally, you can connect the IXS to a KVM switch via either
PS/2 or USB connectors or run headless.  No direct floppy support but I
suppose a USB floppy would work (do people still use floppies for
servers?).  

Virtual CDs?  I don't see why not.  You can also use regular CDs & DVDs
in the iSeries optical drive or do anything else you can do with
Windows.

Or are you talking about using them for installing Windows?  The command
INSWNTSVR does the actual install.


There's nothing special/custom/proprietary about the version of Windows
that runs on the IXS; it is off-the-shelf.  If you can do it with
Windows then there's no reason that you can't with the IxS as long as it
doesn't require additional hardware.
