Hi Birgitta,

x'6C' is %
x'4E' is +

so x'6c4e6c' is %+%, at least for ccsid 37.

Since it worked fine for Ron at v5r3, the SQL command interpreter must be converting the hex to characters before interpreting it.

I'm not sure why Ron said those characters are not visible.

Hi,

IMHO Like X'6C4E6C'
Is not the correct syntax.

In either way I'd add the % sign before and after the string. The following syntax should always work:

Select *
From MyTable
Where MyCol like '%' concat x'6C4E6C' concat '%'
