This following approach works... at least, with MochaSoft;s N5250
emulator ...
If you can provide a menu entry such as "99. Sign off" within your
applications menus, and have that menu entry do the following:
1. close any open files, RCLRSC, RCLACTGRP, etc.
2. issue:
SIGNOFF ... ENDCNN(*YES)
this will terminate the telnet session and should automatically close
the telnet session window.
(NOTE: If you are still using SNA connections to the host, I am not sure
what happens!)
That way, you can just train the users to use this method to sign-off
and close the window, all at once.
(Unfortunately, when I tried this with IBM ClientAccess or iSeriesAccess
and a few other open source TN5250 emulators, they did not close the
window, but just said "Disconnected"... perhaps someone might know of a
way to configure the IBM ClientAccess 5250 emulator, or some of the
other emulators, to close the window when disconnected?)
Hope this might help some folks...?
