Licensing by user: was: IBM will announce two new System i models, 515 and 525 on Apr. 10.

So IBM is offering licensing by user. So, if I have 800 Domino users
accessing a machine, but the only "traditional" i5/os user profiles above
and beyond a barebones box is QNOTES and ROB do I only pay for two users?
Or even just one?

I seem to recall a Mapics shop some 20+ years ago that had a S/36. Only 1
or 2 S/36 user profiles and everyone shared one. Then when you got to the
Mapics application you had a separate user id and password (for that
application, it did not have a matching S/36 profile).
Our accounting package does the same thing. It's just been a shop
standard to have to have them match.
